THE TEN COMMANDMENTS Take His two tablets (and feel the calling in the morning ;-)

  1. THOU SHALL HAVE NO GODS BEFORE ME.
  2. THOU SHALL NOT MAKE UNTO THEE ANY GRAVEN IMAGE, OR LIKENESS OF ANYTHING AS IN HEAVEN ABOVE, OR THAT IS IN THE EARTH BENEATH, OR THAT IS IN THE WATER UNDER THE EARTH
  3. THOU SHALL NOT TAKE THE NAME OF THE LORD THY GOD IN VAIN.
  4. REMEMBER THE SABBATH DAY, TO KEEP IT HOLY.
  5. HONOR THY FATHER AND THY MOTHER.
  6. THOU SHALL NOT KILL.
  7. THOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTRY.
  8. THOU SHALL NOT STEAL.
  9. THOU SHALL NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS AGAINST THY NEIGHBOR.
  10. THOU SHALL NOT COVET THY NEIGHBOR'S HOUSE, THY NEIGHBOR'S WIFE, NOR HIS MANSERVANT, NOR HIS MAIDSERVANT, NOR HIS OX, NOR HIS ASS, NOR ANYTHING THAT IS THY NEIGHBOR'S.

Three insights on God's Law:

  1. His law is not punishment, but direction.
  2. His law is given in the context of unconditional love.
  3. The purpose and primary aim of God's law is to set our heart on Him.

Our relationship with God is moral and rational (like the universe). God keeps His Word. God must be approached on his own terms.

These are not the ten suggestions. Some things ARE "carved in stone".
