Dear Bunker Hill Church Family,
The August 28, 2011 worship service at Bunker Hill Presbyterian Church has been CANCELLED.
As of 10 PM on Friday, August 26, National Weather Service meteorologists continue to indicate that the track of Hurricane Irene will bring tropical downpours and Category 1-force winds into the entire South Jersey region from late Saturday night through midday Sunday. We have been under a hurricane warning for nearly 24 hours, and the warning will not be lifted until late on Sunday.
Therefore, in light of the danger posed by the hurricane, members of Session and I have deemed it wise -- and a matter of stewardship -- to recommend that everyone remain at home for the duration of the storm, rather than risk life and limb by going to the church.
